Bunnie H. Shotwell, Jr.

Bunnie Hugh Shotwell, Jr. 87, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at Bryan T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center.

Bunnie was born March 25, 1933 in Person County, NC to the late Bunnie Hugh Shotwell, Sr. and Nannie Sue Wilborne Shotwell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Hunt Shotwell.

Bunnie was retired from the City of Roanoke Rapids. He loved playing softball and bowling.

Bunnie is survived by his children, Ronnie Shotwell and his wife Carol of Tampa, FL, Lawrence Shotwell and his wife Kim, Sue Allen and her husband, Gary both of Roanoke Rapids; his grandchildren, Marsha Dao and her husband Adam, Christi Brantley and her husband Brian, Pam Gentry, Jason Shotwell and his wife Stephanie, Lauren Price and her husband Mason, and Justin Allen and his wife Tabitha; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his special friends, Edith Gay and Randy Matthews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Martin and Rev. Andy Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 19, 2020 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of his granddaughter, Lauren Price.
