Brian Ray Barnette, 58, of Gaston, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026 in ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital. Mr. Barnette was born on December 14, 1967 in Roanoke Rapids, the son of Kay Kinnin DeBerry and Starling Ray Barnette.
Brian loved playing video games, going four wheeling, golfing, and going fishing with Lynn.
Surviving along with his parents include his wife Jennifer Ellis Barnette, his children: Elizabeth “Beth” Davis, Talon Barnette, and Leanne Davis (Bryant), his best friend Lynn Smith, his siblings: Kelly, Brent, and Katie, his grandchildren Elijah, Andrea, Kaydance, Mason, Avary, and Kennedy, and his great grandchild Elias.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service. Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hocadayfs.com.
