Brenda Tucker Williams, 56, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC after a long illness.
Brenda a native of Halifax County, was the daughter of the late Annie Davis Tucker. She attended Northwest High School and was a long time employee of the Waffle House. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Surviving is her fianc Gilbert Moore; her daughter Laura Joyner of Roanoke Rapids; her son Toby Williams of Greenville; and a very special grandson Logan Joyner of Roanoke Rapids. She is also survived by her twin brother, Jimmy Tucker; brothers James Earl Tucker and wife Kathy of Kinston; Donald Davis and wife Nancy of Roanoke Rapids; her sisters Mary Hazelwood; Judy Birdsong and husband Charlie all of Roanoke Rapids; Hazel Johnson and husband Lowell of Suffolk, Va.; Four nieces Margaret Moncure and Susan Lather of Kitty Hawk; Cathy Banton; Heather Barcelona and husband Ed of Greenville; April Gardner of Gaston; and Crystal Wise and husband Chris of Chester, Va.; Nephews, Donald Wayne Davis and wife Bonnie of Tarboro; Glen Jenkins and wife Vickey of Williamston; Marcus Davis and wife Brandy of Roanoke Rapids; Frederick Bo Tucker of Kinston; and Elvis Tucker and wife Hannah of Pink Hill; and many dear relatives and friends. Brenda also leaves behind her pets, Smokey and Shu Shu, that she dearly loved. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids and other times at 1240 Charlotte St. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Martin and Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
