Brenda Ann White

December 5, 1955 — November 14, 2025

Roanoke Rapids

Brenda White, beloved daughter, mother, aunt and grandmother, entered her eternal home in heaven on Friday, November 14, 2025. She was born the eldest daughter to Octavia Ward (Flushing, MI) and the late Johnny Cayton (Montrose, MI) on December 5, 1955. Brenda possessed an innate capacity for selflessness and compassion. Raised by a clan of strong and beautiful women, she carried the mentality that we are meant to be a village; caring, loving, supporting and providing for one another to no ends. And she did just that. Whether it was the neighborhood kids or a stranded mother and her children, she never thought twice about rendering the aid that they needed. She never met a stranger and was a living example of God’s grace. Blessed with the gift for gab, Brenda spent over 30 years as a travel agent booking experiences for families and corporations. In her free time, she loved to feed people. Baking someone a cake or cooking them a meal was her favorite way to express her love. She also enjoyed expressing her creativity through painting and writing.

Ms. White’s memory will be forever cherished by her sons, Antonio (An’Drea) White, Quincy Redwine, Korday (Charleen) White, and daughter and caregiver, Emiliana White. Granddaughters, Tydria White, Allexus White, Distinee White, Taylor Leon, Eiyana White, Marissa White, Kayleanna White, Kylah White, Chayla White, En’Finety White, and Chonte White. Grandsons, Anthoni and Kory Henson, Tyree Redwine, and My’Son White. Her much loved eight great-grandchildren. Mother, Octavia Ward and sisters, Ressie (Derrick) Hamm and Shonte Walker. Niece, Rolanda Cayton and nephew, Christopher Harper. As well as her many cousins and friends.

She was welcomed into heaven by her father, Johnny Cayton, sister, Jacqueline Cayton, aunts, Alice Kemp and Sharon Wilburn, cousin, Lakesika Cammon as well as her grandparents and great grandparents.

To honor her wishes, Ms. White will be cremated. In lieu of a service, please consider donating to charities and causes that she loved, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Mercy Ships, or your local food pantry, library, or homeless shelter.

“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:29-31
