Brenda Carol Butts

Brenda Carol Butts 55, of Community Home Park died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at NC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.

Mrs. Butts was born May 21, 1957 in Gallup, New Mexico to the late James Lester Jones, Sr. and Eula Litha Capps. She was also preceded in death by her niece Wanda Keener and her beloved dog Fredo.

Mrs. Butts loved her husband, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She was a very caring person who loved taking care of others. She also loved cooking, fishing with her husband and collecting smiley faces.

She is survived by her husband: Gene Butts, Sr. of the home; her step-son Flash Butts and his wife Barbara; her brothers and sisters: Bobby Jones and his wife Edna, Jane Moore and her husband Tom, Bonnie Massey and Jimmy Jones all of Roanoke Rapids, Margaret Rooker and her husband Lewis of Warrenton, NC; her sister-in-law: Geraldine Gregory of Roanoke Rapids and Barbara Gordon of Sanford, NC; her nieces and nephews whom she thought of as her own children: Glenn Jones and his wife Kim, Karen Connell and her husband Mark, Darryl Keener, Sharon Johnson and her husband Ed, Laura Raymond and her husband Rick, Olivia Mead and her husband Mark, Sammy Massey, Amanda Russell, Jason Jones and his wife Carly, Heather Morrow and her fianc Ricky Ricks and Ricky Boyette and his Julie; numerous great nieces and nephews and one great great niece and special friends Steve and Nancy Holliday.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Michael Jones and Rev. James Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the funeral home and other times at her brother Bobbys home, 408 Sam Powell Dairy Road, Roanoke Rapids..
