Bobbie Brown Twisdale

Mr. Bobbie B. Twisdale, 83 of Roanoke Rapids passed peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Born March 7, 1938 in Halifax County, he was the son of Benjamin Hale and Virginia Neville Twisdale.  His parents, as well as siblings Sam Twisdale, David W. Twisdale, Betty Twisdale Dickens, Albert Roy Twisdale, Ann Hope Twisdale Awaltt, Virginia Lucille Twisdale, Willis S. Twisdale, Mickey Elaine Twisdale, Hazel Twisdale Cyr, and Jane Hale Twisdale Hudgins, all preceded him in death.

He was a loving Husband, Father & Grand-Father. He was well known for his dedication to the local Alcoholic Anonymous Program. He loved the outdoors bringing life to beautiful flowers and unique plants. This gentle man never met a stranger and could tell the best stories ever, never forgetting the smallest of details.  Mr. Twisdale retired from Halifax County, where he worked for 25 years as a substance abuse counselor.  He was a member  the Widow’s Son Lodge #519 AF & AM of Roanoke Rapids.  Bobby was a veteran, having served in the US Army.

Survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy Hawkins Twisdale; three children, Geri T. Foote, and spouse Neal C. Foote of Ocala, FL; . Bobbie B. Twisdale II (BB), and spouse Debra Ralston of Stuarts Draft, VA,  and Milton E. Twisdale (Mike), and spouse Kimberly Twisdale of Virginia Beach, VA;   10  Grand-children; 4 Great-grand-children;  and a sister, Sallie Revett of Largo, FL.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 29 from 4:30 – 6:00 pm at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service will be conducted from the gravesite at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield,  at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 30, with Pastor Keith Sexton presiding.  Masonic rites will also be offered.
