Bob Melton Gibson

Bob Melton Gibson, 73, of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Vidant Hospice in Greenville.

Bob was born April 8, 1945 in Halifax County, the son of Harry and Ethel Walters Gibson, both whom preceded him in death.  He was an electrician, and a member of Open Door Fellowship Church.  Bob liked yardwork, playing cards and spending time with his family.  In his younger days he enjoyed playing softball.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Collins Gibson; stepson, Brian Wallace (Kim); granddaughter, Kristina Wallace; great-grandchildren, Zoe and Ivan Lassiter; sisters, Polly Gibson, Lillian Merette, Mary Garroutte; and brother, Clinton Howard.

He was also predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Friends may visit with the family from 6 – 8 pm Friday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  Interment will follow in the Love – Allen Cemetery.
