Betty Jo Moree Francis

Betty Jo (Moree) Francis, 86, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, NC, but currently residing in Conway, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2019.

Betty Jo was head cashier for Kroger’s and Farm Fresh Stores in Roanoke Rapids for many years. Born in Angelus, SC, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Eddie Francis, and her parents, Rosetta and JB Moree.  She is survived by her four loving children, Teresa Francis Chiselbrook of Henderson, NC, Thomas E Francis, Jr and his wife, Debbie, of Littleton, NC, Tonya Francis Chiselbrook and her husband, Craig, of Avon, CT, and Judith Francis Herrin and her husband, Doug, of Oxford, NC; six grandchildren, Laurie Ann Robinson, Andrea Chiselbrook Travis, Thomas E Francis III, Jennifer Chiselbrook Berube, Jessica Herrin Ball, and Lisa Starling; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are many relatives and friends in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Louisburg, NC, and to the doctors and medical staff of the Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson, NC, for their loving care of Betty.

Visitation is scheduled for 1 pm, Thursday, May 30, 2019, with a memorial service to follow at 2 pm, Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service, 507 US 158, Roanoke Rapids, NC, with the Rev. Frank Sossamon officiating.

A private Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
