Bert Mitchell Waters

Bert M. Waters, 80, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Signature Healthcare.

Bert was born June 20, 1938 in Halifax County to the late Bonnie Rudolph Waters and Myrtle Keeter Waters.

He was a faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He retired from Westpoint Stevens.

Bert is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years Joanne Waters; his daughter, Michelle Rogers and her husband Chris; his grandsons, C. J. and Ethan Rogers; his nephew, Rickie Howell and his wife Connie; his close friends, Billy and Teresa Perkins and his Godson, John Wesley Perkins.

A memorial service to celebrate Bert’s life will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Sue Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. Friday, July, 20, 2018 at Hockaday funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Maradiaga, Dr. Miller, the staff at Signature Healthcare and their church family.
