Bert Lindley, Jr.

Bertrand “Bert” Hollowell Lindley Jr. passed peacefully at home with his family at his bedside in the early morning of February 27 ^th , 2018 at the age of 79.

He was born in Vicksburg, MS to loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bertrand H. Lindley Sr. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Navy Band. Bert met his first wife (Juanita De Lira) while stationed in Corpus Christi, TX and they had two children (Robert and Christine). Bert went on to college after his time in the Navy and graduated with a degree in Music Education from Northeast Louisiana University. His hobbies included skeet shooting, fishing, and Blackjack.

He is survived by his spouse Kay Shearin Lindley, son Robert Thomas Lindley and wife Anne, daughter Christine Lindley Ferris, and granddaughter Lindley Blanche Whitehead.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Partridge Creek Young Guns 4-H Club 119 Amen Corner, Summerville NC 29483 or Rainbow Animal Rescue of NC P.O. Box 972, Roanoke Rapids NC 27870.

A memorial service is to be planned for a later date.
