Bernice Allen Johnson

Bernice Allen Johnson, 95, formerly of 593 Zoo Road South died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Magnolia Gardens in Warrenton.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 18, 1916 in Halifax County to the late Charles Henry Allen and Lougenia Powell Allen. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands; David William Conwell and Samuel Hugh Johnson; her son: David Graham Conwell; her daughters: Marie Murphy and Francis Pearcy; her sisters: Jessie A. Love and Eva Jenkins.

She is survived by her son: Charles Jackie Conwell and his wife Ida of Roanoke Rapids; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; twenty-two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Fred L. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Love-Allen Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 P.M. Monday, February 27, 2012 at the funeral home..
