Bernard Sterling Taylor, 93, of Henrico, died in his home on Sunday morning, March 31, 2019.
Mr. Taylor was born in Richmond, VA on March 2, 1926, the son of Sterling and Julia Smith Taylor. A US Navy veteran, he served in Pearl Harbor during World War II. Following his military service, Mr. Taylor became both a textiles executive as well as a renowned saxophone playing jazz musician.
He is survived by his sons, Bernard, Jr., Kevin, Michael and Stuart; daughters, Karen and Denise; several grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond. His parents, wife, and a son, preceded him in death
Mr. Taylor's wish was to be cremated. Following cremation, the remains of both Mr. and Mrs. Taylor will rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
