Ben Frank Solomon

Ben Frank Solomon, 93, of Enfield was called home on May 5, 2023, at his home.

Ben was born May 31,1929 in Halifax County to the late Farris Moore Solomon and Neva Belle Silver Solomon. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Grady Mills (Samuel), Odessa Brewer (Harvey), Walter Mae Solomon (Frank), Ethel Mae Peters (Roosevelt), Robert Solomon (Ruby), Patti Lynch (L.D.), Curtis Solomon; and his son Nacoleon Solomon.

Ben proudly served his country in the US Army and was involved in the Korean War. He also worked at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service as the Traffic Manager at Clark Air Base, Philippines.

Ben dedicated his life to serving Jesus through prison ministries, nursing homes, and his extended church family. Those who knew Ben probably knew him through his musical gifts. That powerful voice and aww inspiring gospel twang would get anyone off their seat. He used his gift to inspire those around him and bring everyone closer to God. He loved his family dearly and was a constant source of wisdom and support. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and service will live on.

Ben is survived by his wife Guadalupe “Penny” Solomon; his children Claudette Johnson of Greensboro, NC, Benjamin Solomon of Desoto, TX, Reginald Solomon (Renal) of Bristow, VA, Steven Solomon of Hampton, VA, Sathena Solomon of Houston, TX, and Matthew Solomon of San Antonio, TX and 14 grandchildren; his sisters Mollie Bert (Henry) of Riestertown, MD and Marie Williams (Nay Charles) of Richmond, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, May 13,2023 at the 1 ^st Pentecostal Holiness Church, 145 Old Farm Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Walter’s Chapel Cemetery in Hollister, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00PM prior to the funeral service.
