Barry Arthur Carpenter

Barry Arthur Carpenter, 52, of 1201 E. 9th Street, Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

He was a firefighter for 10 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, making people laugh and having a good time, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by his fianc, Michelle deFluiter.

He is survived by his daughters: Heather Hairr and husband, Nelson, of Roanoke Rapids; Bobbie-Jo Carpenter and her fianc, Chris, of Parlin, New Jersey; and Crystal Podmayersky and husband, David, of South Amboy, New Jersey; his brother: Harry Schmidt, of New Orleans, Louisiana; his sisters: Cindy Shamey of Edison, New Jersey, and Nancy. Carpenter, of Bergenfield, New Jersey; his grandchildren: Tyler, Vicky, Christine, Heaven, and Faith; and the mother of his children, Holly Scully, of South Amboy, New Jersey.

A memorial service will be held at The Trinity Church on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 7:00 P.M. conducted by Pastor Michael Thorne.
