Barbara Hargrave

Barbara Ann Hargrave, 63, died November 18, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Barbara was born in Portsmouth, VA, December 3, 1948, to the late Melvin P. Williams and Lucille Floyd Williams. She worked as the bookkeeper for Shell Furniture for 39 years and was an avid collector of anything and everything, calling it a Collector of What-Nots. She was a loving wife and mother, and friend to all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hargrave, Jr., and two brothers, Dennis and Steve Williams.

Surviving are two sons, Gary Hargrave & Lauren Shearin of Emporia, VA, and Scott Hargrave of Roanoke Rapids; two special friends, who were like sons, Richard Bolton and Greg Boyd, both of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, Larry Williams of Roanoke Rapids, and James Shug Pearcy of Red Oak. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Hargrave, Hunter Lee Hargrave, and Tori Alana Hargrave. Special friends who were like family to Barbara, left to cherish her memory are Shelia Shaw of Canton, NC, Linda White, and Judge and Judy Manning, all of Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service from 7-9 pm.

Graveside services will be Friday, November 23, 2012 at Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids at 2:00 pm. Rev. Wayne Marshall will officiate.
