Arnold "Red" Wayne Vowell Sr

Arnold Red Wayne Vowell, Sr., 64, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Halifax Regional Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1945 in Halifax County, NC to the late Roland LeClaire and Pauline Cain.

Red once attended Chockoyotte Baptist Church. He owned and operated Red Vowell Plumbing & Repairs for over 40 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: James Roland Vowell.

He is survived by his son: Arnold Wayne Vowell, Jr. and wife Sheri of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren: Melissa Ann Vowell and Jerry Wayne Vowell; great grandchild: Elizabeth Cheyenne Balmer; nephew Cliff and niece Courtney.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with the Rev. Randy Martin officiating and other times at 1501 4th Avenue Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 7 8:30 pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.

Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery..
