Arlie Juanita Worrock

Arlie Juanita Worrock, 96, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 in her home.  Juanita was born on October 24, 1928 in Nash County, the daughter of the late Virginia Bowen and Laddie B. Strickland and was the widow of the late Irvin Eugene Worrock, Sr.  She is also preceded by her brother Buddy Strickland, her daughter Betty Poindexter, and her grandson Brandon Haslip.

Mrs. Worrock was a loving wife and mother.  She worked for the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District for 12 years and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Surviving include her son Irvin “Popeye” Worrock (Wanda), her grandchildren:  Cindy Matthews (Scott), Tammy Norris (Jeff), Melissa Worrock, Carol Griffin, Jena Lynch, Christy Williams, and Sharhonda Pierce; her great grandchildren:  Crystal Heustess, Jordan Smith, Brooke Harris, Lauren Hite, Jessica Cogar, Hunter Keeter, Joseph Matthews, Joshua Matthews, Taylor Lassiter, Marshall Keeter, Marcus Moore, Sophia Lassiter, and Brittney Matthews, 12 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024 in Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Wayne Marshall officiating.  Entombment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.   Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 163 Driftwood Lane, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
