Alvah Reid "Dink" Harrison

Alvah Reid Dink Harrison, 80, of 80 Carl Street died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Duke University Hospital.

Dink was born January 6, 1933 in Northampton County to the late Alvah Harrison and Maude Virginia Justice Harrison.

Dink never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.

He is survived by his special nieces and nephews: Edwin Harrison and wife Debra, Chuck Harrison, Vonda Harrison Gibson, Eric Harrison, Mark Harrison and his wife Beth who were his caregivers, Matt Harrison, Doug Harrison and Carol Harrison all of Roanoke Rapids, and Ron Harrison of Seaboard; number of other nieces and nephews; sister-in-law; Carmen Harrison of Roanoke Rapids; special friends James Cooke and Ms. Ann; Linda Lucard who was like a sister of Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00PMat Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Gary Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Spring United Methodist Church Cemetery in Skippers, VA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the funeral home and other times at the home..
