Addie Wynn Massey

Mrs. Addie Wynn Massey, 60, of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Vidant North Hospital.

Addie was born December 2,1961 in Halifax County, the daughter of Elton Martin Wynn, Sr. and Mary Johnston Wynn.  She was preceded in death by her father; and also by a daughter, Belinda Massey.

Addie attended South Rosemary Baptist Church for as long as her health permitted.  She was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Her great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye.  She enjoyed her flowers and watching the hummingbirds.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Wynn; her husband, Charles Massey; a daughter, Jennifer Massey; grandchildren, Jasmine King, Halle Walls and Aliya Keeton; great-grandchildren, Leia “Emmy” King, Logan King; brothers, Elton Wynn, Jr. and Clarence “Pete” Wynn; and sisters, Shirley Whitehead and Becky Lee.

The funeral service for Mrs. Massey will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from the graveside at Cedarwood Cemetery, with Pastor Dennis Joyner presiding.  Friends may visit with the family following the service.
